04 Swan Valley day trip FAQs

Questions before you head out

Do I need to book a table at Mash?

Bookings are recommended for weekends, public holidays and any group of 10 or more, and are essential for bus groups. Midweek, small groups can usually get a table without one. Book online, call (08) 9296 5588 or email swanvalley@mashbrewing.com.au.

Can we walk in without a booking?

Yes. Walk-ins are welcome whenever there is space, and the beer garden is the easiest place to find a table at short notice. On busy Saturdays and long weekends a booking is the safer bet.

What are Mash's opening hours?

Mash is open seven days: Monday to Thursday 11am to 4pm, Friday and Saturday 11am to 9pm, and Sunday 11am to 6pm. Public holiday hours vary, so call ahead. Mash is closed on Christmas Day.

Does Mash have gluten-free options?

Yes. Gluten-free dishes are marked on the menu and the kitchen can adjust others on request, so let staff know about coeliac disease or any allergy when you order. Mash beers are brewed from malted grain and are not gluten-free, so gluten-free guests can choose from wine, spirits and soft drinks.

How do I get from Perth to the Swan Valley?

Drive about 25 km north-east from the Perth CBD via Tonkin Highway, Reid Highway and West Swan Road. It takes 25 to 30 minutes and there are no tolls. Without a car, take the Ellenbrook line train to Whiteman Park Station and a short taxi or rideshare, or join a Swan Valley tour with Perth pick-up.

How far is Mash from Perth Airport?

About 20 km, or 20 to 25 minutes by car via Tonkin Highway, Reid Highway and West Swan Road. That makes Mash an easy first stop after landing or a long lunch before an evening flight.

Is there parking at Mash?

Yes. There is free car parking on site at 10250 West Swan Road, Henley Brook, and coaches and minibuses can drop off at the door.

Can tour buses and minibus groups stop at Mash?

How do I book a bus group at Mash?

Email sales@mashbrewing.com.au or call (08) 9296 5588 with your date, arrival and departure times, group size and any dietary needs. The team will suggest a space and menu to suit your timetable.

Is Mash a good stop on a Swan Valley brewery tour?

Yes. Mash has brewed its own beer on site in Henley Brook since 2006, the brewhouse sits in view behind the bar, and the kitchen serves full meals, so it works as both a tasting stop and the lunch stop on a brewery tour.

What else is there to do near Mash in the Swan Valley?

Within a few minutes' drive you will find Supa Golf next door, cellar doors such as Ugly Duckling Wines, gin tastings at Old Young's Distillery, chocolate tastings on West Swan Road, and the tram rides and motor museum at Whiteman Park.

Is Mash family friendly and dog friendly?

Yes to both. There is a kids' menu and open outdoor space for little ones, and well-behaved dogs are welcome in the beer garden, where water bowls are provided.
